Musical Motif Art Show
Music Motif Show Jurors - 2011
This year's jurors are Sue Terry, Jill Howell, and John C Kopp.
Yamaha Artist 'Sweet' Sue Terry is an internationally known musician, recording artist and educator. Her interest in visual art began early in life as her mother was a painter, photographer and illustrator specializing in dog portraiture. Having access to a variety of art materials in the house, as a child, Sue often made her own toys. Her matriculation into the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford in 1977 situated her right next door to the Hartford Art School, where she began her lifelong fraternization with visual artists. Finding visual art to be highly inspirational for her music, Sue also continued to create in these mediums, taking courses in drawing, printmaking, book binding and letterpress printing.
Jill Howell MA, ATR-BC, LPC is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in NYC. She worked as an illustrator and scenic artist for many years before receiving a Master's Degree at Marywood University in Art Therapy. Jill is employed by Pocono Medical Center and the Dale and Francis Hughes Cancer Center where she helps patients to deal with illness and stress through art and Complementary Medicine. Her art has been exhibited in NYC, NJ, PA and Chicago and has won many awards in addition to being featured in Art Direction magazine and Dimensional Illustrators.
John C Kopp is a working artist with photographic materials. He worked as a commercial photographer and taught photography at College of Southern Maryland and University of the Arts. His work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, Chicago, Maryland and Washington, D.C. area during the last 25 years. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Pocono Arts Council. A selection from John's latest body of work, Deconstruction to Reconstruction, is being exhibited at the Pocono Community Theater in East Stroudsburg from September 1 to the end of October.
